About Us

Meet Helen

Helen portrait_edited.jpg

After qualifying from King’s College London, I began my career working for MOD as the Dietetic Clinical Lead for the Military  in the UK and overseas.

I then became a Mother and committed my time to looking after my two children .

On my return to work I moved into education and qualified as a secondary school teacher in 2011.

Subsequent roles enabled me to work with physically and mentally disabled children and young adults at Treloars School in Hampshire. This  allowed me to combine my clinical skills in an educational environment. During this time I also delivered lectures to students at Southampton and Surrey University.

My next post was in the NHS as a paediatric dietitian for children with special needs. Alongside this role I worked for Macmillan, supporting patients through breast cancer treatment and recovery.

I then moved into elderly care working within a specialist team to enhance  medical care within nursing homes in Hampshire. In conjunction with this role I provided dietary assessment and guidance to chefs on food provision for over 100 care homes operated by Avery healthcare in the UK.

In 2021 I  moved to Guernsey and took up post at the Princess Elizabeth Hospital as Oncology, Elderly care and Acquired Brain Injury Dietitian. I also delivered theory and practical sessions on diet and nutrition at the States of Guernsey Prison.

I am passionate about enabling clients to make suitable food choices through education and personal insight. By recognising the physical , emotional and environmental factors which affect our daily food choices we can begin to make informed choices to improve symptoms , health and well–being.

In addition enabling and guiding organisations to recognise the impact of the working environment on food intake and subsequently health , facilitates change to improve staff welfare and  ultimately performance.

I look forward to meeting and working with you.
